Level 3 Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults

GXT is delighted to announce the launch of a new AIQ qualification that will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to design and adapt exercise programmes to meet the needs of older adults.

As people get older, there is far more to consider when putting together an exercise programme for clients. Instructors have to interpret the amount of physical activity they can do and also take health issues into consideration. The Level 3 Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults (QCF) provides a fantastic opportunity for fitness instructors who wish to develop their skills to be able to offer programming to meet the needs of individuals who fall into the older age bracket.

Jenny Patrickson, Commercial Director at Active IQ, said: "We aim to constantly update and add to our portfolio to give training providers the best qualifications that meet the needs of our nation. The needs of the older generation can be different to young adults and exercise plans need to be designed and adapted around what physical activity individuals can do, whilst taking health issues into consideration. The new qualification gives learners and training providers the opportunity to address these particular issues and meet the needs of older adults."
